TRACE is a free in-browser privacy and network diagnostic tool. It shows you in real time the data that any website you visit, your ISP and the network already collect about you — public IP, geolocation, ISP, ASN, reverse DNS, WebRTC leaks, browser fingerprint, VPN/Tor signals, DNS records, latency and hardware capabilities. Nothing is sent to a server: it all runs in your browser.

Does TRACE store or upload my data?

No. TRACE has no backend. All probes run client-side. The only outbound calls are public IP/geo APIs (ipwho.is, ipapi.co, ipapi.is, ipify), DNS over HTTPS (dns.google, cloudflare-dns.com), the Cloudflare speed-test endpoint and OpenStreetMap tiles for the map. No account, no cookies for tracking, no analytics.

Can TRACE detect a VPN or Tor exit node?

TRACE applies a heuristic on the ISP / ASN / org returned by public IP APIs (it flags hosting providers, known VPN brands and Tor exit ranges). It is a hint, not a forensic verdict.

What is a WebRTC leak?

WebRTC can expose your local IP addresses (and sometimes your real public IP behind a VPN) via STUN. TRACE runs a STUN probe and shows you exactly what the browser exposes.

Which browsers are supported?

Any modern browser: Chrome 94+, Edge 94+, Firefox 100+, Safari 16+, Opera 80+. Some advanced probes (UA Client Hints, WebGPU, Battery API, Bluetooth/USB/HID) depend on the browser.

Is TRACE GDPR / privacy compliant?

Yes by design: TRACE has no server-side processing, no analytics, no third-party tracker, no advertising. It only stores a local random ID in your own localStorage to demonstrate persistence — you can clear it from your browser at any time.
